POSITION PURPOSE

The Product Manager (PM) for Managed Security Services will manage a product line for best-in-class managed security solutions across the product life cycle. The position reports to the Director of Marketing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Essential functions/duties of the position

• Gather and analyze market intelligence data, monitor competitive activity and identify customer/market requirements
• Ensure product profitability by implementing proper costing/pricing strategies, monitoring and fixing product defects
• Interact with industry thought leaders and strategic partners as well as internal cross-functional teams from sales, application development, customer operations and marketing
• Create and maintain the business plan for the markets served by our product line
• Drive development of unique value proposition for assigned security products
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research with existing customers and potential prospects
• Perform sales, trend, and profitability analysis
• Work with decision makers in marketing communications and sales management to ensure that the product is correctly positioned for the target market segment
• Responsible for product planning, technical construction/configuration, costing/pricing, and release management including product retirement
• Perform on-going win/loss analysis to better understand the features that are required for improved sales success
• Based on market-driven feedback from customers and prospects, the PM will write clear product requirements. The PM will work closely with development/operations managers to define the contents and delivery of product releases

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Strong technical knowledge of information security technologies, security threats and current security solutions
• Demonstrated success in product launches and end-to-end execution of marketing strategies
• Proven experience in developing product configurations comprised of technical application architecture, infrastructure and network components
• History of product management accomplishments and initiative
• Ability to write clear market-driven product requirements
• Must be able to manage large projects and break them down into workable units
• Experience developing relationships with suppliers and co-marketing partners highly desirable
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5+ years of technical product management experience, including 2+ years working with security products from development through launch and sales ramp up
• BA/BS in Marketing or Business related field required. Marketing MBA a plus
